Overview:

The Honda Fit is a leader in the sub-compact car segment because it its style, safety, reliability and resale value. In fact, the Honda Fit is the most awarded vehicle in the sub-compact car segment! Included in the list of awards earned by the Honda Fit include:

“The Fit is not just a triumph over other small cars, it’s a triumph of engineering.” This strong statement comes from the editors of Car and Driver magazine, explaining why the Fit has once again made it to the 10Best list. In fact, the Fit has made the list for six consecutive years—every year that it has been available in the United States.

The 2012 Honda Fit was named Best Resale Value for a Subcompact Car by Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com. Depreciation (or loss of value) is typically a car buyer’s primary expense during ownership. Taking resale value into account can help drivers save money in the long run. Kelley Blue Book® Residual Values are projected based on market conditions for each vehicle, competition within vehicle segments, expectations of the future economy and combined experience of Kelley Blue Book’s residual analysts.

The Honda Fit is J.D. Power and Associates’ “Highest Ranked Sub-Compact Car in Initial Quality” in their 2011Initial Quality Study SM (IQS). The IQS named the highest performers within the first 90 days of vehicle ownership. Needless to say, a trophy like this deserves a prime spot in the trophy case. Honda Fit received the lowest number of problems per 100 vehicles among sub-compact cars in the proprietary J.D. Power and Associates 2011 Initial Quality StudySM.

The Honda Fit claimed ALG’s 2012 Residual Value Award for “Best Sub Compact Car.” This marks the second year in a row that the Fit has driven away with this prestigious award. Residual value, or the value a car is predicted to retain over time, is an important consideration for car buyers when comparing vehicles.

Exterior:

Honda has done it again with the Honda Fit! They have designed a vehicle that is not only efficient, but also stylish. The Fit’s sharp and aggressive design is eye catching and appealing. The Fit Sport model adds great exterior features like a rear roofline spoiler, fog lights, chrome exhaust finisher, and 16 inch alloy wheels!

Fit Sport exterior updates for 2012 include new designs for the front grille and bumper, black headlight bezels and a dark “machined surface” finish for the alloy wheels (replaces a painted finish appearance). The entry-model Fit retains its exclusive front fascia design and for 2012 receives body-color exterior mirrors (previously black) and updated wheel covers.

Interior:

Inside, the Fit Sport interior is enhanced for 2012 with dark metallic dashboard components for a unified color theme (replacing the previous gray and black theme). Fit Sport receives additional chrome accents around instrument displays. All models receive newly designed console-mounted center beverage holders along with console ambient lighting, which provide easier access and greater stability. All models also receive added sound insulation measures in the floor, front fenders and A-pillars, plus thicker front corner-window glass, to help create a quieter, more-refined cabin environment. Two new colors are available: Blue Raspberry Metallic and Orangeburst Metallic, which replace similar colors from the prior model year.

The top-of-the-line Fit Sport includes a long list of exclusive, standard features compared to the entry-model Fit. For 2012, it gains standard steering wheel-mounted audio controls for fingertip operation (previously exclusive to navigation-equipped models) and upgraded seat fabric. When equipped with the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ with Voice Recognition, the Fit Sport now includes Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® to help make hands-free telephone calls more convenient. The enhanced system also includes a Bluetooth Audio capability with compatible phones and devices.

Don’t let the size of this baby fool you…the Honda Fit has ample interior space and plenty of storage! It’s got easy-to-read gauges that illuminate ambient blue at night, 10 beverage holders, an iPod® compatible USB Audio Interface[1] and an available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ with voice recognition[2] for urban tracking.

The 2nd-row Magic Seat® lies flat, revealing more space, and a secret box for hidden storage. Go ahead and stuff it, with 57.3 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats folded down.

Configure your Fit in four different modes to give friends, pets and cargo the space they need.

Safety:

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named the Fit a “2012 Top Safety Pick.” IIHS rates vehicles good, acceptable, marginal or poor based on performance in front and side crash tests, a rollover test, and evaluations of seat/head restraints for protection against neck injuries in rear impacts. To earn Top Safety Pick for 2012, a vehicle must have good ratings in all four Institute tests.

Six Airbags

The Fit has standard front, front side and side curtain airbags.

Crush Zones

Along with energy-absorbing crush zones, the new high-rigidity ACE™ body structure helps keep occupants protected.

Honda Safety

The Fit even has an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and active front head restraints, plus Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) with traction control—just a few more examples of how Honda takes a comprehensive approach to vehicle safety.

Honda’s Safety Philosophy

Honda is committed to providing safety for everyone—that means crash protection not only for our own drivers and passengers, but also for the occupants of other vehicles, and injury mitigation for pedestrians. We are dedicated to identifying and implementing advanced designs and features that help enhance the safety of vehicles on the road.

Fuel Efficiency:

Its 117-hp 1.5-liter, 16-valve, SOHC i-VTEC® engine, along with the Drive-by-Wire™ throttle system, provides remarkable fuel economy. In fact, the base Fit with automatic transmission achieves 28 city/35 highway mpg[3]. And all Fit vehicles run on regular unleaded gas.
